Trailer Q&A

Bungie has released a Q&A about the new Halo Movie.

They're looking to release the music as an mp3. Q ~ Does the canyon / hole in the trailer have something to do with New Mombasa and that spacejump the Covenant Capital Ship made at Halo 2?
A ~ That's an excellent question. A Slipspace jump in-atmosphere would have a devastating effect on an environment, don't you think?

Q ~Is the plan to release the game at the same time as the movie? Or does the movie release have no effect on when the game is released?

A ~ The two will not affect each other in terms of release dates.

Q ~ The Trailer seems to have a different "feel" to it. Darker, more desperate. The music seems to play an important role as it always has, but this trailer really showcases it well. Is this a good example of what the soundtracks theme will be like?

A ~ According to Marty, very much so. As the game has a darker feel, so will the soundtrack.

Me ~ Happy Days, No new-release Star Wars garbage!

Halo Movie Trailer

There's a trailer kicking around somewhere for the new Halo Movie. I've not started looking for it yet. But if you know where it is, add a comment below.

By all accounts it was a dissapointing event. Just Master Chief walking through a dessert and sending at the edge of a cliff - nothing too inspiring and no in-game action.

But as we know, Bungie are in the very early stages of making the film and also in the early stages of making the third Halo Game. They commented:

“the trailer was built to have minimum impact on the development process, and while it required long hours and hard work from many, many Bungie staffers, it utilizes real-game assets, fiction and locations from parts of the 'real' game.”

Plot Summary

There's been much talk about the plot for the new Halo Movie. So here's my view on it.

You've got some people saying it'll be set in 2176, 2552 and 2511.

The story line given on imdb has many similarities with the Star Wars series. A guy is born and ends up being the saviour of the universe. He leaves his home.

Ok so that was harsh - we all know it'll be a great film.

It's said that Master Chief John Spartan is taken as a child to train for the military. They get attacked by the Covenant, Master Cheif thinks the rest of the Spartans are killed. The plot of the film will possibily revolve around the Master Cheif, The Orbital Drop Shock Troppers, the United Nations Space Command all batteling with the Covenent and the Flood.

So you've read that and you know no more! But what I do hope is that they don't try and get some stupid love angle in to it. Also I hope they don't have a traditionaly "American" ending where we're all supposed to leave the theatre feeling glad we're human. We all want high-voltage, draw-dropping, pant-filling action. We don't want another Star Wars!
